While investment management is our core competency and we manage more than $3 billion of our clients' investment assets, wealth management is much more than that. It is defining financial goals that are consistent with the family's values. It is the coordination of sophisticated planning in a number of different but related areas: investments, business interests, estate taxes, income taxes, personal finances, philanthropy and more. It is monitoring and reporting in a way that is both understandable and meaningful. It is constantly changing. And it is, at some point, almost always too much for any one person to do well. We are a firm of professionals whose only job is managing the wealth of very substantial families – dozens of them, across the United States.
